Dr Kavita Karnik M. Med.Sci, PhD

Dr Kavita Karnik is the Principal Scientist – Global Nutrition at Tate and Lyle. In this capacity, she provides leadership in Innovation and Commercial Development unit on nutrition science and is involved in new product development and providing credible scientific support for new and existing products by helping to build a strategic nutrition science research program.

After completing a degree in Medicine from India, Dr Karnik received her Masters and PhD in Nutrition from the University of Sheffield, UK. In addition, she holds a Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education and professional qualifications in Clinical Research Management and Clinical Research Monitoring. She currently represents Tate & Lyle on ILSI Europe and is a member of Energy Balance and Eating Behaviours Task Force
